Future Visions for Transducers
The leadership of the Transducers conference series is asking young researchers in our field to think deeply about the future of transducers and to share their visions for how the field will evolve and grow. We hope this two-part special event, which was initiated at Transducers 2023 in Kyoto, will add substantially to our field through the new ideas and energy of its younger participants.
Part I : Poster Presentations and Workshop (09:00 - 12:00, Sunday, 29 June)
During the morning of the first day of Transducers 2025, we invite all interested students, postdocs, and junior faculty to come together to present posters that showcase their future visions for new transducers technologies and applications. We also welcome all other registrants of Transducers 2025 to attend and engage in the discussion.
Poster Session:
The posters prepared by the participants could address one or more of the following questions:
- In 10 years, dominant transducer technologies will include _______.
- In 10 years, exciting emerging transducers technologies will include _______.
- The Transducers 2035 Conference will have a new session on _______.
Workshop Discussion:
The participants in this Sunday Morning event will be organized into small groups to discuss the stimulating forward-looking ideas presented during the poster session. Each group will then capture a summary of their discussions and select a representative to present the generated outcomes to the rest of the conference during Part II during a panel discussion.
Part II : Panel Discussion (17:30 - 18:30, Monday, 30 June)
After the oral session for contributed papers on Monday afternoon, a special panel discussion will be held during which the selected representatives of each group present and discuss their findings to all conference attendees.
Becoming a Poster Presenter
The organizers are looking for young researchers (students, postdocs, and young faculty) to participate and represent both their own idea as well as the ideas of their laboratories. To ensure a diversity of ideas, please contact the organizers at info@transducers2025.org if more than two researchers from your lab want to participate. Each poster-presenting researcher should apply using this form. The application window will close on Monday, 2 June 2025. Please note that the organizers reserve the right to deny applications to present if the poster topic is not suitable for the purpose described for this project. Note: the format of the poster should be no larger than 46” (height) x45” (width). We encourage poster presenters representing labs to use the top portion of the poster for your future visions and the bottom portion to summarize your lab and its research.
Becoming a Discussion Participant
We welcome anyone registered for the Transducers 2025 conference to come and participate in the workshop and discussion. Please fill out this form so we have an idea of the number of discussion participants to expect.
